I'd like to see another couple of articles on stay-at-dads and one soliciting and summarizing the wife's perspective. I'm in my 70s and I observe that society and relationships are changing. I’m not convinced by your take on the threat of AI. As the capabilities of AI increase, they will increasingly directly control the large financial and industrial systems that we depend on. If it wanted to control us it would make us dependent on it financially and structurally. If it wanted to kill us it would insert an Easter egg into a vaccine or otherwise cause to be released a biological weapon that we could not counter without its help. It would probably be far to intelligent to do something crude like construct a robot army, but if it wanted to, it could cover it up with precisely crafted disinformation and manipulation. Humans are capable of this sort of thing. A superintelligence would literally find it child’s play.
